India's power sector in FY26 (Apr-25 to Mar-26) shows robust growth across all key dimensions. Electricity generation peaked at 165.4 BU in Jul-25 (monsoon season), dipped to a low of 132.1 BU in Nov-25, and recovered strongly to 161.6 BU by Mar-26. Coal production reached a record 113.7 MT in Mar-26, while coal stocks built up from 36.1 MT in Jul-25 to 58.2 MT by Mar-26, indicating comfortable fuel availability. Renewable energy capacity expanded continuously, adding 62.2 GW over the 12-month period, with solar alone contributing 42.5 GW.
