Analysis Note
Delivery has become the dominant growth channel for QSR — Online Food Delivery GOV grew roughly 22x over 12 years (₹1,650 Cr to ₹36,000 Cr), while Delivery AOV consistently ran ₹70–110 higher per order than Dine-in AOV, widening the gap in the post-COVID years. FY 2020–21 stands out as an inflection point: dine-in AOV and footfall both fell sharply (footfall index down to 45 from 100) as customers shifted online, but delivery AOV actually rose to ₹400 as fewer, higher-value orders replaced routine in-store visits — a shift that has persisted, with the Composite National AOV climbing from ₹260 to ₹460 as delivery's share of the order mix has grown.
